June Nails.

June Favourites.

WOWZERS, it's that time again for my monthly favourites! This year is going by so fast it's horrible! I've loved so many things this month, it's been a time for new launches and new beauty discoveries for me.

MAC Kelly Osbourne Collection- it's kind of cheating but all the products from the collection have made it into my favourites. I know I've not posted reviews of them all yet but I have written them, I just don't wanna bore people who aren't interested in the collection lol. Dodgy Girl lippy is hands down my favourite item and has instantly become my all time favourite lipstick.

Chanel Le Vernis in May and Rouge Coco lipstick in Dedicace- I love this duo they're perfect everyday failsafe colours that go with everything. Both are really long wearing and are true to colour.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation- never did I think that I would like this foundation! This was a gamble that paid off, I've worn this nearly every day this month and what I love most is that it's super pale and perfect for my skin tone.

Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad in Nearly Naked- this has to be my bargain buy of the month! I've literally used this every day wearing the pink shade to neutralise my lids and the highlighter shade on my brow bone. I love how easy it is to use and how it's different from your normal neutrals shadows.

O.P.I Nail Envy Duo- I know this was in my last favourites but I'm finally reaping the benefits of using them and boy am I impressed! My nails have never been so long or strong.

What I Did This Week #22.

I have had such a lovely week this week! I'm still on nights but I've been off from Saturday and was back in work on Friday night. I feel like me and my fella have been able to spend some quality time together which has felt like a rarity over the past 6months. Here's a summary of my week...

Playing Footsie- I've began to realise that the majority of my Instagram photos are of my feet. Although I don't have a foot fetish, I do like my feet and I love a good pair of shoes. Follow me @Medusa_Roisin for feet, nails of the day and more lol.

Home improvements- me and my man have committed some days off to tidy our house. I focused on our bedroom where I've rearranged all the furniture and done a mini wardrobe detox. I'm wanting to collect faux taxidermy ornaments for our bedroom, like this super cute cat piece and film posters for our spare bedroom. I've started favouriting things on etsy.com and have ordered a couple of pieces to get started.

What's In My On-The-Go Bag.

When I was at college and uni, I literally used to take my full makeup bag everywhere with me but as I've got older I've realised that there's only a few essentials that I need to carry with me. 

Tissues- always needed. I mostly need tissues to take makeup swatches off the back of my hand when beauty shopping but they're obs good for a runny nose etc!

Concealer- especially working the long shifts that I do, concealer is a must! I like taking the Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Concealer in Fair because it is a thicker creamy concealer so it gives great coverage on eye bags and unexpected blemish outbreaks! 

Pressed Powder- being an oily skinned girl, pressed powder is a must! I really like the Maybelline Matte Maker for Mattifying my skin, I use a powder puff to press it I to my nose and chin when my oil starts to shine through. 

Lippy- I often forget to out lippy on when I'm rushing out of the house so it's always good to carry one with me. I love this MAC Patent Polish Lip Crayon as it's a lovely lilacy pink shade. 

Lip Balm- I'm forever applying lip balm on my dry lips and the Maybelline Baby Lips are a great handbag essential.

Hairbrush- having a fringe requires ongoing maintenance so a hairbrush is always handy.

MAC Kelly Osbourne Eyeshadow Palette in Bloody Brilliant.

MAC Kelly Osbourne Eyeshadow Palette in Bloody Brilliant (£32, MAC).

This was my first ever eyeshadow palette from MAC- in fact the only eyeshadow I've ever bought from MAC was Embark which I use on my eyebrows. This shade range is very 'me' with it's purple tone theme and is a nice change from the usual natural/nudes palettes. The palette contains....

Spoonfull of Sugar (sparkling platinum, Veluxe pearl)

Tickety Boo (soft muted plum brown, satin)

Fizzy Rose (pale lilac, satin)

Shadow Lady (blackened plum, matte)

I've been super impressed with this palette and my swatches don't really do the depth of these shadows any justice. Spoonful of Sugar is the only let down in the palette as it's more of a shimmer than an actual shadow per se. It does give a lovely highlighty effect which looks lovely on the inner corner of your eye. Tickety Boo is a lovely base shadow and crease shade that it super wearable in both daytime and dramatic night time looks. Fizzy Rose is my favourite shade in the palette as it's unusual in my opinion. It's a lovely semi iridescent lilac shade with a pinky shimmer running through it. Shadow Lady is a beautiful matte plum with a taupe tone to it. I love this palette for creating both day and night time looks- save from the highlight shade the shadows are super pigmented and have great colour payoff with minimal fallout. I love this palette, I think it's super expensive for four shadows but as a one off I think it's worth it. I hope you're ok, thanks for stopping by x

ASOS Payday Wishlist.

This payday seems so far away! I got paid early in May because of a bank holiday so it has been longer than usual. It's my birthday in July so my mum's started doing that annoying thing of buying me stuff that I want to buy myself for now but putting it away for my birthday grrrrrr! So far I've chose a Rose gold watch from River Island, a faux leather jacket in the Wallis sale and the new lilac nail varnish from Chanel's Summer14 collection. 

Poor ASOS were closed over the weekend because they'd had a fire in their warehouse, thankfully no one was hurt and they're back in action now! I've been looking online lusting after some things so I thought I'd share a Wishlist with you...

Shoes- these SS14-incarnate beauties are my go-to shoe style this season! I love the ankle detail on these shoes and the patent blue is just divine! I'm unsure whether I'll actually get these because I certainly don't need any new shoes but they're just so nice!

Blue Polka Dress- I love this dress; I normally don't wear navy or dark blue because I wear black so much but this is an exception. I love the blue lace trim on the bottom it's super unusual. 

Trousers- love. I've wanted some check/gingham pants all season but skinny pants just don't suit my booty but these bad boys look like a good shape for me! I'm gonna buy and try them before deciding.

Mint Dress- Erm, gorgeous! Love the colour, love the shape, love the bow- I think it'd be super flattering so I'm deffo gonna treat myself to this. 

iPhone case- wantwantwant. I've ordered an iphone hard case with pearls and bows on off eBay but it's coming from abroad and won't be here til mid July grrrr. I really like this ASOS flowery one for on-the-go to keep my beloved iphone scratch free!

Collar lace dress- I know this dress isn't very summery but it's perfect for AW14 and it's not that expensive!

O.P.I Nail Envy Update.

It's almost been a month since I started using O.P.I's infamous Nail Envy strengthening products so I thought I'd do a proper review and share the results! Just to put it into perspective- I spent much of my teenage years donning acrylic nails which left my natural nails soft and thin. So what has Nail Envy done for me? Well, just look at my nails in the above pictures! This is the longest my natural nails have ever been and they're strong, non-bendy and peel-free. It's like I've had a nail transplant, I'm not even exaggerating. I've been using the Matte Nail Envy as a base coat under coloured varnishes and on it's own when I can't wear nail varnish for work, giving my nails a natural finish. I've been using the original Nail Envy in it's more traditional sense, applying it over nail varnish every other day as a nail treatment. 

I understand that it's expensive but honestly it's worth it and I've hardly used any of either bottle up- I honestly think they'd last at least 12months. I hope you're OK, let me know if you've used Nail Envy, thanks for stopping by x

Primark AW14 Collection Preview.

AW fashion is my favourite- all the lace, leather, fur.layering, berry tones, greys, black, metallic finishes-the list is endless! The high street bargain masters Primark have released an exclusive peak at their upcoming AW14 collection on both Primark.com and company.co.uk From the looks of the photographs, the collection is a mash up of Scandinavian chic, ladylike glamour and the obligatory winter layering. I love the Scandinavian scenery in the photography- it makes you want to don a fur stole and mittens lol. I cannot wait for this collection to drop! I'm gonna start saving my pennies to buy a whole new wardrobe! Thanks for stopping by x

Kelly Osbourne Lipstick in Dodgy Girl.

MAC Kelly Osbourne Lipstick in Dodgy Girl (matte finish, £16.50 from MAC).

This was the item that first got me excited about the MAC Kelly Osbourne collaboration. My love of lilac lipsticks has been ongoing for over a year now and I have been constantly searching for the ultimate lilac lipstick...until now. Encased in beautiful lilac MAC packaging with Kelly's signature on it, Dodgy Girl is my first ever matte finish MAC lipstick. Dodgy Girl is a very pink toned lilac- this is important because most lilac lippies are blue toned and can be a bit dead-looking; however, the pink undertones of this lilac makes it vivid and strong. I'm also super impressed with the formula- often matte finish lippies can be chalky and drying but this is super creamy and smooth on the lips. The staying power of this lippy is unreal- I've even had people commenting on how well it's lasted when I've been out. It does stain the lips bright pink but this is easily removed with makeup wipes or Micellar water. I am officially in love with this lipstick- so much so that I bought it twice for fear of running out! I know this shade won't be to everyone's taste but I personally love it loads and have already worn it so many times! I hope you're OK, thanks for stopping by x

What I Did This Week #21.

1. Working nights- hate nights, hate nights, hate nights. Luckily, I've got four days off now.

2. Selfies- I've been instagraming like it don't know what this week! I'm concerned that it's bordering on narcissism so I've got to keep myself in check. The ones of me in bed are a new addition because I struggle to sleep during the day! 

It's been a fairly uneventful week I'm afraid, I've been working and sleeping- BORING! We're totally sorting our house out these next few days so I'm gonna keep you updated on that. Thanks for stopping by x

Home Improvements.

Recently I've been dreaming about making loads of changes to our rented house. We've lived here now for 18months and I'm only just beginning to feel like this is somewhere we'll be staying for a while. I'm a proper home bird and the thought of moving house regularly frightens the life out of me. I feel that it's time to invest a little bit of time and money (what little I can spare!) on our hut. I've got a few spare days off this week so I'm spending it with my fella giving our home a good old sorting out. I mostly want to sort out our bedroom and the spare bedroom because I've decided I don't like the layout of the furniture lol. 

Naturally this has led to me browsing the interwebs for lovely housey things to buy. Ideally, I'd like to paint our bathroom and maybe the chimney wall in the front room but we're holding off on the painting for now. I've always wanted to own some taxidermy items and regularly bid on moths etc to display but they go way beyond my maximum bids. This has led me to search for faux taxidermy and I am officially obsessed. The thought of gaudy, pastel coloured acrylic faux animal heads may fill most with vomit but fills me with excitement! I'm dipping my toe in because I don't want to be bankrupt but I've already purchased a cat item and a rabbit wall mount. Etsy is the place to go my friends- there's literally thousands of faux taxidermy items out there for grabs! My only sadness is that most sellers are in the USA and either don't ship to England or the shipping fees are astronomical! I'm also thinking of buying lots of TV and film posters to put in our front bedroom. I've found loads of minimalist style posters which I've fallen in love with! I've done this a bit backwards because I've already posted reviews of the Sprinkle Nails and Nearly Naked Quad (go check em out) so sorry about that! I've aquired a small haul from my last Avon delivery. I've never used a bath oil before but I thought this Skin So Soft Bath Oil & Jojoba looked lovely (and it was on offer!). I've not tried it yet but I'm looking forward to having a nice soak with this. I bought this Virginia Watch which was listed as Rose gold effect but I'm a bit disappointed as it's more yellow gold looking than I imagined. I'm gonna keep it and gift it though I think. 

As I've mentioned, I'm already loving the True Colour a Eyeshadow Quad in Nearly Naked I think the colours are gorgeous and super wearable. I'm also currently rocking the Sprinkle Nails in Purple Confetti as a ring finger manicure and it's lasted so well on my nail! I bought a new lippy from the New Nudes range in Sunny Pink which is a bit more coral than I imagined but I'm totally gonna rock it! The Gel Finish Nail Varnish in Lavendar Sky was from my last order but it was out of stock at the time. And finally we have the new Apple Blossom scent Room and Linen Spray which smells super sweet and fresh. I hope you're all OK- thanks for stopping by x

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Light Porcelain (PRICE, Boots/Superdrug/Tesco). 

It's happened again...I've bought another foundation, oops. This was purely a sale price purchase as it was on offer for £6 in Tesco. I've actively avoided this foundation previously because of it's "radiant glow" claims- me being an oily skinned girl, the thought of having shiny skin isn't particularly appealing. Yet here I am, reviewing it for my lil blog!

Although orange is my least favourite colour, I actually like the packaging of this foundation. I always favour a glass bottle with a pump over most types of packaging. I was pleasently surprised to find that this foundation was available in a super pale shade, Light Porcelain. I don't think I've ever come across this shade in the Rimmel range. It's a lovely pale shade which is perfect for my skin tone- pale girls take note! I really like this foundation, it gives great coverage covering redness, blemishes and pores really well. It does give a natural glow without being shimmery or sparkley. I've been road testing this at work and it lasts really well throughout my 12hour shifts and actually, my skin doesn't look oily or shiny by the end of the day. I'm pleasently surprised and super impressed with this foundation- I find myself reaching for it on the reg atm. Let me know if you've tried this foundation and what you think! Avon Sprinkle Nails in Purple Confetti.

Avon Sprinkle Nails in Purple Confetti (£3 when launched in Brochure 12, £6 full price from Avon).

Ciate started the whole hundreds-and-thousands style nail art fetish with their Caviar manicure sets. Since then there has been many incarnations and versions from numerous brands and the latest offering is from Avon. Available in three shade ranges (pinks, greens and purples), the Sprinkle Nails are probably the easiest way to jazz-up your manicure requiring minimal skill or effort! 

The Sprinkle Nails come in a small round tub which is genius because you can actually dip your nail straight into the product rather than with other brands where they come in a normal nail varnish bottle so you have to transfer them into a tub of some sorts (which is very messy and wasteful!). Basically, you apply two coats of your chosen coloured nail varnish then whilst the second coat is still wet (try one nail at a time if you're doing multiple nails), dip your nail into the sprinkles. I then just press them into the nail lightly before setting with a top coat. Et voila! Easy peasey! Purple Confetti contains a mixture of colours including silver, lilac, plum and semi-transparent royal blue sprinkles which look lovely together. In the photos above I did a ring-finger manicure with the Sprinkles and Ciate nail varnish in Sugar Plum. I'd deffo recommend these for nail art beginners and novices (like me) for an easy but effective way of changing up your nails. Let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by x

Kelly Osbourne for MAC Haul.

I finally have it in my hands! I attended the Osbournes for MAC pre-launch party a week last Thursdsy under the pretence that I would be able to try and buy the products before anyone else. Obviously that didn't factor in P&P difficulties! After what feels like a lifetime of backwards and forwarding with MAC I finally found out that my Kelly Osbourne items were at my local post office because MAC had posted them to the wrong house number. ANNOYING! 

Anyway, I can breathe a sigh of relief now that I finally have my beloved items. In case you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you'll know that MAC have collaborated with the power mother and daughter duo that is Sharon and Kelly Osbourne- the wife and child of the Prince of Darkness himself Ozzy Osbourne. The collection is divided between the two ladies and although Sharon's collection was lovely, I'm a Kelly girl through and through. She has always been my second fave style icon (after my beloved Kat Von D). I love her fashion sense, lilac hair, tattoos and curvy girl status. When I went to the pre-launch event, I instagramed a pic of me wearing the lilac lippy from her collection and she liked it *fan girl*!!! Anyway....onto the products! 

Packaging. This has to be the most stunning makeup packaging ever- lilac being my fave colour n all. It deffo stands out against a sea of tyipcally black makeup packaging. Each item comes with the red signature of Miss Kelly O herself. I bought five items from the collection but one was a duplicate of the lilac lippy because I love it so much! I love that all the products have proper English names like Cheeky Bugger- I think it's really funny! I'm gonna review each product seperately so here's a mini breakdown. 

Lipstick in Dodgy Girl (matte) is my favourite lipstick ever ever ever. It's a super bright, true lilac/Lavendar shade that doesn't look corpsey or chalky.

Mineralize Skinfinish Duo in Jolly Good is my first ever Mineralize Skinfinish! I've had the Natural versions as setting powders but I wanted this one because it looked like the perfect bronzer/contour for pale skin. 

Blusher in Cheeky Bugger is another pale skin product in my opinion. It's a super pretty pinky peach shade. 

Eyshadow Quad in Bloody Brilliant contains: Spoonfull of Sugar (sparkling platinum, Veluxe pearl); Tickety Boo (soft muted plum brown, satin); Fizzy Rose (pale lilac, satin) and Shadow Lady (blackened plum, matte)- descriptions taken from maccosmetics.co.uk. This is my first MAC eyeshadow palette/quad purchase!

First of all, sorry these aren't the best quality photos- they were taken on my iphone in the hotel room! It was out work night out on Friday so a few of us stayed in the Premier Inn near our work and got ready there. I had a really nice night, it's nice to catch up with people when you're so busy at work. My besie Dany took some photos for me but it's still dead awks when you're used to doing it on your own.   I love this dress, I've worn it loads since I bought it. I think it goes really well with these chunky shoes which are super comfy- I can't believe I managed to wear them all night long. I'm sucking at outfit posts at the minute because I've got rid of the CD shelves that I used to put my camera on to take pics so I'm hoping to buy a tripod after pay day in a couple of weeks.
