I have found my favourite light nail shade for AW14 guys. Port De Bras is the most stunning dusty rose, blush pink shade. I would recommend doing three thin coats for full coverage as two coats just isn't quite enough (for me at least). I'm a mega massive fan of Topshop makeup and especially of their nail varnishes! Nails Inc. Spot On Trio.

I need to have my bank cards taken off me. Seriously. I can't stop buying things. I am officially in love with this new Nails Inc. trio from QVC, oh my gosh. Normally when there's collections of nail varnishes, there's at least one that I'm not so keen on or am not too bothered about; this kat be the first collection where I love all three equally! This trio has to be an essential AW14 collection for me- the deep forest green of Burton Mews; the pinky nude classic George Street and the STUNNING unusual polka dot colourful effects of Grosvenor Hill. Not only are the colours beautiful but they're made of the forever wonderful Nails Inc. formula that is flawless and long lasting. I am soooooo happy with this set and it's such a bargain at £22 considering polishes are £11 each and effects usually cost more. Thank you once again QVC. Thanks for stopping by x

NEW! Rimmel Velvet Matte Nails.

Rimmel Velvet Matte Nails in Sumptuous Red and Purple Opulence (£4.49 each, Superdrug- currently buy one get one half price!).

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! It's officially AW14 trend time and with it comes new makeup and nail colours and finishes. Rimmel haven't disappointed, launching two new seasonal matte shades in Sumptuous Red and Purple Opulence which are simply divine. I love the packaging of these nail varnishes- they look much more desirable than the traditional Rimmel nail varnish packaging. Sumptuous Red is a rich oxblood red and Purple Opulence is a true royal purple. You deffo need two coats with this bad boy to get true depth of colour and an even finish. The matte finish is soft and completely un-textured; my main issue with these varnishes is that they chip super easily but this won't be helped by the fact that I don't have a matte top coat to secure them with. I'd deffo recommend these varnishes- especially as they're on offer in Superdrug atm. Brb, I'm off to get me a matte top coat! Thanks for stopping by x

Nails Inc. Special Effects and Finishes.

I'm having a love affair with Nails Inc. at the minute and it's led to me trying out some of the different special effects and finishes that they have to offer. Some are new launches and some are old favourites but I thought I'd share my collection of special effect polishes- I by no means have them all but these are the ones I've tried- enjoy!

Floral- my current favourites and new launch to SS14, the Floral effect polishes are quite simply divine. Available in five shades, they contain a miriad of particles and flower sequins to give the effect of a garden or meadow full of flowers. I have two shades from the collection and didn't realise that they would have different particles in them. Floral Street Mews (pinky peach) has all kinds of round and hexagonal particals that can be built up quite thickly whereas Queensgate Gardens (blue) has dots and dash particles within it.

Sprinkles- I bought a set of three from the effect from QVC over a year ago now. Similar to the Floral effects, they contain loads of particles but this time they're uniform shape and size. They range in colour and are built within a coloured varnish so some of them become mattifies when layered- they truly do look like sprinkles!

Gel- gel effect nail varnishes seem to be the 'in' thing at the minute with their high gloss flawless finish.  I have Lexington Gardens which is the most stunning lavender purple- to be honest I went for the shade over the finish. I'm not that bothered by gel-finish nail varnish, I personally don't see that much of a difference between gel and that of a good quality normal finish varnish. Does anyone else agree?

Summer Party- I think this was a limited edition finish as I got this in the sale for £5! It's a glitter top coat that contains a mixture of small metallic particles. Grosvenor Gardens is a lovely mix of silver, pink and lilac metallics that give an amazing glam finish. I love layering this over pastel shades in an ombré affect for something different.

Leather- this was a trend that could quite happily have passed me by until I saw Dalton. Oh my. This minty green Leather effect Polish screamed Spring/Summer to me and it didn't disapoint. I like say concrete effect polishes, the Leather effect is subtle enough to be different but wearable at the same time. The texture isn't rough or offensive and it's really lovely and matte. 

Latex- initially I wasn't that impressed with this but I LOVE the feeling of the latex effect. It's so soft and smooth and looks flawless. I just think it's so unusual and different, I've never seen anything else like it. 

So they're my Nails Inc. effect polishes! I know there are tonnes more like the denim one etc but I'm happy with my collection! Although, I do believe they've launched a lace finish which I must check out! What's you fave nail varnish finish? Thanks for stopping by x

O.P.I Nail Envy Update.

It's almost been a month since I started using O.P.I's infamous Nail Envy strengthening products so I thought I'd do a proper review and share the results! Just to put it into perspective- I spent much of my teenage years donning acrylic nails which left my natural nails soft and thin. So what has Nail Envy done for me? Well, just look at my nails in the above pictures! This is the longest my natural nails have ever been and they're strong, non-bendy and peel-free. It's like I've had a nail transplant, I'm not even exaggerating. I've been using the Matte Nail Envy as a base coat under coloured varnishes and on it's own when I can't wear nail varnish for work, giving my nails a natural finish. I've been using the original Nail Envy in it's more traditional sense, applying it over nail varnish every other day as a nail treatment. 

I understand that it's expensive but honestly it's worth it and I've hardly used any of either bottle up- I honestly think they'd last at least 12months. I hope you're OK, let me know if you've used Nail Envy, thanks for stopping by x

Avon Sprinkle Nails in Purple Confetti.

Ciate started the whole hundreds-and-thousands style nail art fetish with their Caviar manicure sets. Since then there has been many incarnations and versions from numerous brands and the latest offering is from Avon. Available in three shade ranges (pinks, greens and purples), the Sprinkle Nails are probably the easiest way to jazz-up your manicure requiring minimal skill or effort! 

The Sprinkle Nails come in a small round tub which is genius because you can actually dip your nail straight into the product rather than with other brands where they come in a normal nail varnish bottle so you have to transfer them into a tub of some sorts (which is very messy and wasteful!). Basically, you apply two coats of your chosen coloured nail varnish then whilst the second coat is still wet (try one nail at a time if you're doing multiple nails), dip your nail into the sprinkles. I then just press them into the nail lightly before setting with a top coat. Et voila! Easy peasey! Purple Confetti contains a mixture of colours including silver, lilac, plum and semi-transparent royal blue sprinkles which look lovely together. In the photos above I did a ring-finger manicure with the Sprinkles and Ciate nail varnish in Sugar Plum. I'd deffo recommend these for nail art beginners and novices (like me) for an easy but effective way of changing up your nails. Let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by x

Essie Nail Varnish in Spin the Bottle.

I've found it, I've found the perfect everyday nail varnish colour! I'm not allowed to wear nail varnish but (naughty me) I do so on the regular. Spin the Bottle is the perfect peachy nude shade that can go undetected but still looks stylish! I think this would look stunning with an LBD and some lovely jewellery. I love Essie nail varnishes as they give flawless coverage and last really well on the nails. I'm loving this shade in comparison with my usually colourful nail varnishes. O.P.I Nail Envy Challenge.

O.P.I Nail Envy Original and Matte duo with Exclusive display box (£26, currently £23.28 on offer exclusive to QVCuk.com).

O.P.I are a brand synonymous with salon quality nail colour and care products. They're used in nail salons across the country (not just their own) and are famous throughout the world. Possibly their most famous product is Nail Envy, a nail repair and strengthening treatment system designed for use in your own home. 

I've wanted to try this for years now but at £18.50 per bottle I was all like 'no way mannn!'. But my lovely friend Dany has been using it recently and the results speak for themselves- her nails look like they've been sprinkled with Miracle Grow they're sooooo long and strong! Well, I couldn't resist giving my stumpy, peeling, soft nails a chance at being reborn! So, I got this bad boy mega saver set off my beloved QVC and I've set myself the Nail Envy Challenge. So the challenge is based on a seven day cycle of: apply two coats of treatment and then any coloured nail varnish if desired; then every other day apply one coat of treatment; on the seventh day remove all varnish and start again on a clean nail. The Original Nail Envy gives a high gloss finish so it's perfect for applying over nail varnish. The Matte Nail Envy is (obviously) matte and it actually looks like you've got bare nails so it's great for men or people like myself who have to have bare nails for work (boo). This isn't a review because I need to comprehensively try this product out! I'll do a full summary and review in about a month to let you know how I'm getting on. Gel finish nail varnishes are all the rage this year from high end brands like Nails Inc to bargain brands like SEVENTEEN, everyone is getting in on the act. The idea of gel finish polishes is that you can get the look of gel nail enhancements without needing any of the equipment or expertise, in the comfort of your own home. I bought two shades- Dazzle Pink and Lavender Sky but the lilac one was out of stock, boooooooo. 

Dazzle Pink is a lot peachier than I expected, I was hoping it was more baby pink from the swatches in the brochure tbh. Having said that, I do like the colour, it just wasn't what I was expecting! Also unexpectedly, the nail varnish has a super subtle shimmer running through it but it doesn't effect the colour so much. Two coats of this polish gives a flawless, high gloss finish; however, I personally don't find the finish of this polish a glossy as other gel effect varnishes I've tried, namely the Nails Inc ones. To me, it's more like a standard high quality nail varnish which isn't a bad thing at all! I hope you're all OK, thanks for stopping by x

Essie Nail Varnish in Splash of Grenadine (£7.99, Superdrug).

This is my first ever Essie purchase and by gosh it's a good one! I was compelled to buy it after Estée from essiebutton mentioned it on one of her videos. I'm proper into purple makeu at the minute so I couldn't really of wrong with this one. Splash of Grenadine is a beautiful purple grape colour- I guess some people might think it more pink than purple. I like the packaging of Essie nail varnishes, it's nice and simple. The formula is nice and two coats gives a lovely flawless finish. What do you think of this shade? Let me know- thanks for stopping by x

Nails Inc Floral in Floral Street Mews.

Oh. My. Gosh. I pre-ordered this about a month ago now and it's just landed on my door mat this morning. I couldn't wait to put it on so I painted it over Nails Inc Kensington Square which I already had on my nails. The Nails Inc Floral varnishes are a brand new launch, available in five shades. They're a beautiful mixture of particles of all different colours, shapes and sizes within one colour palette. The intention is that they create an effect like a beautiful floral garden- the most obvious particles are in a contrasting colour in a flower shape. In Floral Street Mews, the particles are lovely pink and peach shades with white and turquoise flower particles in it. It goes on really well and evenly and it's really easy to fish out the bigger particles from the bottle. 

I definitely want to try some more of the Floral varnishes, there's Richmond Gardens Floral (minty green particles)  and Queensgate Gardens Floral (blue particles and white flowers) which I wanna get my hands on! What do you think of these new varnishes? Let me know! Thanks for stopping by x
