I will admit, I bought this by accident, oops. I thought I was picking up a new Rimmel eyeliner but this was on the stand- but I'm so glad it was! This is a chunky, thick angled eyeliner that is amazing to use. I really like the monochrome packaging it doesn't need to be anything fancy for an eyeliner. This has to be the easiest eyeliner to use...ever. I would so recommend this for beginners because it basically does all the work for you. The formula of the liner is nice and black but isn't so wet that you get transfer on the crease of your eyes. There's not much more I could say about this other than I'd totally recommend it! Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick.

Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick in Nude Perfection (£4.99, Boots and Superdrug).

The makeup world has become obsessed with Kylie Kardashian's 90s nude overdrawn lips and they've become somewhat of a makeup Holy Grail. She reportedly uses a MAC combo of a lip pencil in Soar and lipstick in Velvet Teddy- but I've found the one that works for me! Moving on from the chubby stick generation of lip products- which has been done to death- pencil crayons seem to be the new in thing. 

Maybelline Color Drama Lipsticks are really simply packaged- which is a bt underwhelming and initially led to me giving them a miss when I first saw them. However, this lippy is definitely a case for 'substance over style' which is more than fine by me! The matte creamy formula is amazingly hydrating without being glossy or wet. The best thing about this product? It lasts allllllllll day long! Seriously, this has some staying power my friends. Nude Perfection is one of ten shades available in this product- as you can see from the lip swatch, it's a lovely peachy nude that's very 90s and subsequently is very now. I love this product and can't believe it passed me by! Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizer CC Cream.

Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizer CC Cream (£14.99, Boots and Superdrug).

All I need to see are the words 'pore minimiser' on a product and it goes straight into my basket. Being an oily skinned dame, I struggle with big open pores- especially on my nose and chin; and they get clogged up so quickly. Olay isn't a Skincare brand that I buy from because most of their products are focused around anti-ageing benefits. It's a little on the pricey side for my usual Skincare tastes but I bought it on offer in Superdrug for £9.99. 

This CC Cream is available in three shades- fair to light, light to medium and medium to dark; I went for the lightest shade which perfectly compliments my pale complexion. This product makes big claims friends: evens skin tone appearance; minimises the look of pores; enhances brightness; visibly smooths fine lines and wrinkles; reduces the look of spots; hydrates for a firm look; replenishes moisture. I'd definitely agree that this CC Cream covers and minimises the appearance of pores and evens out the colour of your skin. It gives a super light coverage but provides a stunning base for your makeup. I really like the way this product smells- is that weird?- it smells quite fruity and fresh. It's got a light air whipped texture that feels like a moisturiser on application. It's also got SPF15 which is a great bonus for the skin. I'd deffo recommend this and I continue to enjoy using it! Topshop The Foundation in shade 1.0 (£16, Topshop).

Oh my gosh, Topshop have launched a foundation!!!! Is anyone else as excited as I am?! I couldn't wait to get my hands on this and bought it as soon as I saw it in store. It's available in five shades which are named numerically, I've gone for shade 1 which is the lightest shade. Five shades is obviously fairly limited but it does cover fair medium and deep skin tones. Hopefully they'll expand the shade range in the future.

Can we just stop and admire the packaging. Oh wow. Firstly, I love the frosted glass bottle- I think it's so classy looking. Second, I love the pipet style applicator- it's so unusual and it allows control over how much you dispense. In the bottle, shade 1.0 looks quite dark but on application is does seem to adapt to your skin tone to an extent. Having said that it is probably the darkest shade I feel comfortable wearing on my face! The texture of this foundation is something else! It reminds me of a thicker version of the L'oreal Eau de Tient although I didn't like that foundation itself! It's got a lovely velvety lightweight finish and texture whilst giving a medium coverage. It has a matte velvety finish that covers my pores and doesn't let shine through all day. Overall I'm super impressed with this foundation! Mini Makeup Haul.

The months of September and October are a time for big makeup launches as we enter the AW season. Some of these new launches I've been keeping my eyes open for whereas others I just stumbled upon. So here's what I got...

Collection Big Fake Curves Mascara (£4.99, Superdrug)- I totally didn't need this but the brush was so unusual I couldn't resist!

Topshop The Foundation (£16, Topshop)- so for those of you living under a rock, Topshop have launched a new face collection within their amazing makeup range. It comes in a really limited shade range but they've got a pipet applicator and glass bottle. 

Rimmel Provocalips (£6.99, Superdrug)- the promise of long lasting colour with a moisturising finish was too much to resist so I bought two shades!

Maybelline Master Graphic Eyeliner (£5.99, Superdrug)- I totally bought this thinking it was a new Rimmel launch because it was displayed on the Rimmel concession stand but clearrrllllyyyy it's Maybelline. Oh well.

Shopping the Stash.

This is a totally unintentional "Shopping the Stash" but since starting my new job and uni, I've fallen back in love with makeup! I've been able to wear eyeshadow and try different looks with all kinds of lipsticks from my collection- it's been so lovely! I've found that there's a few things I've been reaching for recently and they're all old favourites.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 120 Vanilla- I can't believe I forgot about this foundation, it's amazing! It gives great coverage without being heavy on the skin and it gives a natural but flawless finish. I still hate that it hasn't got a pump applicator though!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel- I've found my skin has felt a bit saturated recently and my L'oreal Skin Perfection Moisturiser has felt a little heavy since the warm September weather crept in. This Clinique moisturiser is nice and light but still hydrating. Win.

Urban Decay NAKED Basics Palette- this has been my go-to everyday palette as I love the matte neutral shades. I'm super excited about the October launch of the NAKED Basics 2 which I will deffo be buying!

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in 145 Rayonnante- this is quite simply the most luxurious, moisturising lipstick with the best colour payoff I own. The raspberry shade is stunning and compliments my skin tone really well. 

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in 59 Dedicace- this lives in my 'handbag essentials' bag as it's the perfect 'go with everything' pink shade. Again, it's got the quality and luxury of any Chanel lipstick but this is the perfect light pink for me- not too blue tone or too chalky, just right for me!

Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette in Romantic Smoked.

Makeup Revolution Redemption Eyeshadow Palette in Romantic Smoked £4, Superdrug).

The launch of the Makeup Revolution brand within Superdrug stores totally passed me by so I was super excited when I stumbled upon it in store a few weeks ago. I thought I'd ease myself in rather than going bezerek and buying everything! My number one purchase that I'd seen when browsing online was this eyeshadow palette in Romantic Smoked. There are several eyeshadow palettes, some of which famously mimic the Urban Decay NAKED palettes so I'll deffo be checking some other ones out. 

Romantic Smoked is exactly what it says on the tin- it's deep, sultry and smokey. The palette contains 12 shadows with a mixture of shimmer, metallic and matte finishes. The main colours are shades of purples and browns ranging from shimmery pinks and lilacs to deep navys and plums. The shadows themselves have great colour pay off and are true to colour in the palette. They blend really well too which is great considering the bargain price of this palette! The packaging isn't the best quality and the applicator that comes with it isn't worth keeping but come on guys- compromise! Barry M Natural Glow Palette.

Barry M Natural Glow Palette (£6.49, Superdrug).

I bought this on a total whim but I couldn't resist the colours in this palette AND it wasn't at all expensive. This palette contains six eyeshadows of nude and natural shades and one complimenting blush. I really like the simple packaging of this palette- it's not the sturdiest being cardboard but you're getting what you pay for there!

I've got to be honest; this palette isn't the greatest quality. The eyeshadows are very shimmery and have minimal colour payoff- to the point where you can't actually differentiate between most of the shades. This blusher is nice and fresh but again, it's not got great colour payoff and is shimmer-tastic. I don't like doing bad reviews but I honestly don't like this palette. I think there's better quality palettes for even lower prices out there, from brands like MUA, Makeup Revolution, Collection etc. I'd give this a miss if I were you! Thanks for stopping by x

August Favourites.

This last month has gone so fast! That's deffo because it's been the best month of 2014 for me (so far!) with our engagement, my beloved starting work, our holiday etc! On reflection I've tried and loved loadsssss of products this month so it was difficult to narrow it down to a few favourites. Here goes...

Avon Big & Daring Mascara- love this mascara. It gives you big fluttery bold lashes with minimum effort.

Topshop Lip Bullet in Call Me Queen Be- my new favourite lippy, it's like a wintery version of my beloved MAC Kelly Osbourne lippy in Dodgy Girl.

Avon EDP in Luck- my new everyday perfume this is sweet and sophisticated and gets loads of compliments!

Tangle Teezer- my hair saviour! 

Avon Eyeshadow Duo in Deep Wine- this has been my go-to eyeshadow set on my days off, the colours are super grungy and have amazing colour payoff. 

Rimmel Brow This Way in Dark Brown- screw you Benefit Gimme Brow, this bad boy brow setting gel is the one for me.

Avon Magix Multi-Benefit Illuminator- illuminating highlighting concealing genius.
