Look Magazine- 26th May 2014 Issue.

Look Magazine is hands down my favourite magazine. I've been buying it religiously for more years than I can remember every single week. I should really get a subscription but I've never got round to it! I love their balance between celeb stories (something which I only have a minor interest in) and fashion, makeup and trend reports (major interest!). So what's inside their latest issue...

Oh dear. I'm about to get on my soap box here so either brace yourself or move onto the next paragraph. Am I the only person who sees a massive double standard in the publics' reaction to the Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z story here? If a man were to attack a woman like Solange Attacked Jay Z, he would be being vilified for being a woman-beater who deserves to be punished and brought to justice, and rightly so! But why is this incident with reverse gendered perpetrator and victim being passed off as a 'family feud', speculatively caused by rumours of infidelity?! No man or woman has the right to attack another person in this way (full stop) and it be remotely suggested that the victim deserved it in some way. I personally think Jay Z should be being heralded as an example of a real man because he didn't retaliate. This is a form of domestic abuse and assault; we wouldn't stand for it being done to a woman so why should we stand for it being done to a man?

On a lighter note, I'm loving this mini-piece on the trend forecast (see what I did there?) about plastic rain macs. I myself have a red and black check one which I bought in London from Topshop last year. They're super practical, which is unusual for fashionistas, and cute. I'm even tempted to buy a more summery coloured one for the predictable British summer showers. 

This is why I love Look magazine so much- their mini-trend reports. I didn't know I needed a palm-cuff (or that they even existed for that matter) until I read this article! Talk about advertising! I've found myself browsing the web for the right one for me, ready for purchasing on payday this Friday. 

In this issue there's a piece called The Cool Online Brands You Need To Know. I'm loving the look of Another8- in particular this leopard print tunic dress which is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s! The piece features 10 on-trend and online brands of the minute that will have fashionistas and bloggers spending their cash on!

Help: I'm A Magazine Addict.

*deep breath* Hi, I'm Roisin and I'm a magazine addict. I hear admitting it is the first step. Without fail I purchase a ludicrous number of magazines on both a weekly and monthly basis. I even find myself buying magazines that I know I don't like, just because I want something to read and it's on special offer for '£1 only this week!'. It gets worse. I don't like lending people my magazines because I know that they'll crease them or get them wet or put their coffee mug on them and the thought of that upsets me. I don't just read my magazines, oh no, I save them and then once I have a certain amount, I go through them and cut out pictures of clothes I like or anything else that catches my eye. Then I scrap-book them. This is something that I've been doing for years. My fella calls it "medieval blogging" because in a way it's like blogging but with glue and paper rather than pixels and keyboards. 

So what am I going to do about it? Well, I'm not going to stop. I get loads of enjoyment out of reading magazines and scrapbooking so I'm not going to deny myself that pleasure. What I am going to do is try and curb my spending on them AND I'm going to start blogging about them. So, I'm going to start sharing my thoughts on the latest fashion, gossip and makeup trends in my new series called...

My Favourite Handbags.

As you may or may not have noticed, I'm a massive fan of handbags. I'm a fan of all sorts of handbags from classic black bags to quirky colourful numbers. I thought I'd share with you a selection of my favourite handbags from my (embarrassingly) large collection of handbags.

1. Iron Fist Unicorn Bag- I've had this bags for about 5years now and it's still going strong! I used to use this bag for uni to haul my millions of files and notepads in and now I use it for work. This is also my go-to bag for day-trips and for going away as you can fit so much in it! I love the pastel colours and the unicorn print! It's got a super cute pink lining with white polka dots on it. It's just super practical and still looks good as new!

2. Pastel Blue Bag, Dorothy Perkins- this is one of the newer bags in my collection and is perfect for Spring/Summer. I think it looks really chic and sophisticated with it's clean silver metal bar on the flap but it's also cute because of the colour. I like using this if I go out for a meal because it's nice and small.

3. Black Cube Bag, Primark- this is my favourite 'everyday' bag. I love that it's go two main sections as it makes organisation really easy and I like to know where all my things are for easy access! I like the contrast between the suede effect and the croc effect and it's super soft and slouchy. It's just a very 'easy' bag to wear.

4. Mini-Satchels, Primark- I like this bag so much I bought it twice! It was super cheap so I bought the polka dot one first and then the pink one but it was available in loads of shades and patterns. It's just a nice, small standard bag and they're great for travel as they're so light and small to fit into your suitcase.

5. Plastic Basket, H&M- ahhhh my love. This is my bag of the moment; I literally use it everyday when I'm not working. It's super quirky and unusual and I love that you can see what's inside because it makes me keep it tidy and clutter-free! It also means I can show off my Ted Baker ipad case!

6. Lemon Box Bag, M&S Limited Collection- another recent addition to the collection, I fell for this because it's so unusual. I love the pastel yellow shade and that it's a structured box bag. 

7. Monochrome Mod Bag, M&S Limited Collection- this was my staple bag in AW13 and it will be making a comeback this year no doubt! It's super 1960s and I love the chunky handle on the top.

8. Leather Pale Blue Satchel, M&S Best of British- this is the bag to end all bags. This is the most I've ever spent in anything ever but I'm still in love with it. Made by the makers on Mulberry handbags, I know that this will last me a lifetime and I love the soft slouchy leather it's made out of.

L'oreal Skin Perfection Duo.

L'oreal Paris Skin Perfection Correcting Day Moisturiser and Magic Touch Instant Blur (£PRICES, from Tesco).

I didn't need new Skincare products but me being me, I bought some! The truth is, I got some Clubcard vouchers from Tesco and decided to purchase these two products a couple of weeks ago with them when they were on offer. I've got oily skin but I've found recently that using a complete Skincare routine tailored for oily skin has ended up leaving my skin dry and dehydrated, especially on my forehead. The L'oreal Skin Perfection range is aimed at the 20-35 age group so it's pre-anti-ageing. It's ine of my bug-bares that there isn't much in the way of Skincare products for this age group other than radiance-inducing products; I don't want to be radiant thank you! OK, rant over!

Can we just take a minute to admire the packaging of these products!? I'm loving the pink packaging and metallic pink lids. The Correcting Day Moisturiser claims to "refines skin texture, tightens pores and corrects and perfects skin tone". I honestly just wanted it to hydrate my skin and even it out but I can't believe how amazing this moisturiser is! It's really creamy without being heavy or rich and absorbs into the skin really well. It gives a matte finish; it doesn't leave the skin feeling tight nor saturated- I think it would suit most skin types to be honest! But the most amazing thing about this moisturiser is the effect it's having on my pores- they are honestly disappearing! My skin also appear less shiny as the day wears on which is great news for me and my oily face. My pores appear tightened, less defined and smoothed over. This means that my makeup is lasting longer and I need to use less foundation to cover my imperfections!

In conjunction with this, I've been using the Magic Touch Instant Blur as a primer under my makeup. It's an air-whipped type cream formula which melts onto the skin to smooth over pores and blemishes. It definitely has that blurring effect leaving a soft, smooth base for my makeup to go onto. In partnership with the moisturiser, I'm totally onto a winner here.

Overall, I'm super impressed and pleasantly surprised at how much I'm loving this duo! It's more than I'd typically spend on Skincare but I guess the results speak for themselves. Let me know if you've tried any products from this range- thanks for stopping by x

Rimmel Colour Rush by Rita Ora.

Rita Ora for Rimmel Colour Rush Long Lasting Intense Colour Balms in Make Me Blush and Viva Violet (£5.99 each).

My love for the Revlon Colourbursts and Just Bitten Kissable Balmstains (mouthful!) has led me to try similar products from rival brands. The latest launch is by Rimmel, fronted by singer Rita Ora, is their Colour Rush Long Lasting Intense Colour Balms. Well really, their just a launch of new shades as they've actually been around for a good year or so now. I decided to give them a try and see if they lived up to the Revlon products. 

I went for shades Viva Violet, a beautifully wearable plum and Make Me Blush, a pretty natural pink. I love the packaging, I like how you instantly know which shade it is from the colour of the packaging. I also love the ease of use of these chunky crayon type lip products. The Rimmel Colour Rushes are super creamy and moisturising on the lips. I think the colour lasts well, although not as well as the Revlon rivals. They have a creamy finish that isn't matte but they have a good colour payoff which is buildable. Overall, I really like these products and think they'll give the Revlon balms a run for their money! What I Did This Week #14.

I've been loving playing with fashion and my hair this past week, I think the nice weather has given me a confidence boost! I'm still super busy all the time at the minute but I'm getting there, slowly but surely!

1. Fashion folly- I've been loving my wardrobe at the minute and I'm enjoying putting outfits together. I've got a few key pieces that I keep reusing and reworking, I've posted about them the other day on my blog if you wanna check them out. 

2. Hair-do's- I've gone back to an old favourite of mine and I've been plaiting my hair on top of my head. It just shows how much shorter my hair is now though because it barely touches ontop! I've also been searching for the perfect volumising product because my hair is so darn flat! I think I've finally found the one so keep your peepers peeled for a review soon...

3. Wedding fever- one of my friends is getting married and I've recently become obsessed with all things wedding! It's something me and my fella talk about a lot but obviously our current financial situation doesn't allow for it to become a reality any time soon. That doesn't stop me from buying wedding magazines though lol.

I've been loving fashion and putting together a load of outfits at the minute and I thought that I'd share some of my faves with you guys.
