April Favourites.

There's been some clear favourites for me this April, I've been reaching for a few things over and over again. So here they are guys and girls...

Urban Decay NAKED3 Palette- I'm not gonna harp on about this one, because there's millions of reviews of this but my gosh it's stunning. It's all pink and rose gold tones that are super flattering and are great for Spring/Summer.

MAC Blotting Powder- this has instantly replaced MSFN in my everyday routine. It keeps my skin matte and shine free all day long and it doesn't effect the colour of my foundations.

Tart Amazonian Clay Blush in Flush- this has been on my cheeks everyday since I bought it. You can wear it super subtly or build it up to a Barbie pink. I'm so in love with this, thank you Tarte and QVCUK!

Nails Inc Nail Varnish in Kensington Square- I have worn this so many times this month it's not even funny! I've worn it alone, with a glitter ombré effect, with Nails Inc Floral polishes over it- I just love it! It's the perfect baby pink and it's so opaque and glossy it's stunning.

Vaseline Spray and Go- this is a wonder product, I don't know how I'd live without it now! I've never been good at applying body butters or moisturising my skin so this is the perfect solution! It's super quick and easy to use and it dries almost instantly so you can get dressed right away.

Real Techniques Blush and Powder Brushes- I bought these and they became instantly makeup bag staples, they're so lovely! The powder brush is amazing for all over the face and it's sooooooo soft. The blush brush goes perfectly with the Tarte blusher and is great for blending out contouring.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (£5.99, Boots).

When the Beauty Blender craze hit the blogosphere, I will admit that I was very skeptical. Many brands have replicated and altered the original and my favourite makeup brush brand Real Techniques have made this little egg shaped number. I bought this on the buy one get one half price offer in Superdrug along with an eyeshadow brush. 

So what's they fuss all about? This is a dense but soft sponge in the general shape of an egg. There's a pointed end which is perfect for concealing blemishes and for blending around the nose and eyes. The flat end is great for applying and blending in large areas like the cheeks and forehead. I find using this takes me longer to apply my foundation and concealer, however I think it makes them last longer and look much more natural. I can't believe how lovely this is- it makes even the fullest coverage foundation look soft and natural. Overall I'm super impressed with this and I'm reaching for it over my beloved Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Have you tried this out? Let me know what you think if you have! Real Techniques Blush and Powder Brushes.

Real Techniques Powder Brush (£10.99) and Blush Brush (£9.99) from Superdrug (currently buy one get one half price).

I've been wanting a new blusher brush for a while as I've realised that using my Real Techniques Contouring Brush isn't ideal (it's great for contouring though- duhhh). When I saw these bad boys were on offer in Superdrug I took my chance. All Real Techniques brushes are amazing quality- they're super soft and hold they're shape even after hundreds of washes. They're super user friendly and I honestly think they're the best brushes around.

The Blush Brush is a nice change from the typical angled blusher brushes you find on the high street. This is perfectly shaped for applying product to the apples of your cheeks. It's super soft in terms of both it's hairs and the shape of it. The Powder Brush is my fave of the two! It's super densely packed so it's perfect for packing on powder all over the face, but again the hairs are soft so it's not offensive or bristly. Buying these two brushes has further cemented my love for Real Techniques and I can wait til they launch more brushes that I can buy! What's you're fave RT brush? April Favourites.

Osmo Intensive Deep Repair Mask; Real Techniques Expert Face and Stippling Brushes; MaxFactor CC Cream; Revlon Lip Butters in Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade; Look Beauty Fresh Cheeks in Guava and e.l.f Brow Brush.

I feel like I've been pretty lazy and uninspired on the blogging front recently, I'm not 100% sure why. When I was collecting my April Favourites together, I realised I've not actually reviewed most of them yet on my blog! I think I'm a bit behind with reviewing products but hopefully I'll catch myself up at some point. My first favourite is the Osmo Deep Repair mask which is an absolute saviour for my coloured damaged hair. It's great for using as a deep conditioner every time you wash your hair, as well as a mask which you can leave on for upto 15minutes.  It smells amazing too which is always a bonus! I've also been loving my two newest Real Techniques Brushes- the Expert Face Brush (review here) and the Stippling Brush. 

I've been swapping my foundations about this month but the one I've been turning to the most is the MaxFactor CC Cream (review here)- it's got a super light-weight air-whipped texture which smooths out the skin tone and colour-corrects to provide the perfect base. My everyday blusher has been the Look Beauty Fresh Cheeks cream blusher in Guava (review here) which is a super pretty coral shade. It's perfect partner is the RT Stippling Brush for sure! This is a 'last week in the month' favourite as I only recently purchased it but I've been loving using the e.l.f Brow Brush for making my brows look more natural when I fill them in. Finally, the surprise of the century (for me anyway) is that I like Revlon Lip Butters!!! I hated the first one I bought last year when they launched but I've fallen in love with two of the newer shades Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade, which I'll be reviewing soon. 

I've not got much else to report apart from that yesterday I bought myself a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Foxy Black Spiked Heels and I'm super giddy and excited about it!!!!! I'll be doing a total love-fest post on them soon. Thanks for stopping by x

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (£9.99, available in Boots and Superdrug). 

I am a huge fan of Real Techniques (who isn't right?) and started my collection with the Core Collection last year; I became obsessed and quickly purchased the Starter Kit soon after. I never really looked at the individual brushes because I thought I already had all of the brushes I needed. However, my poor Buffing Brush is looking a bit worse for wear but it has been used a ridiculous amount and I don't think I've washed it quite as much as I should of *slap wrists*. Created by the lovely and super talented Samantha Chapman of the makeup guru duo Pixiwoo, these brushes are synthetic and are super easy to clean and keep their shape perfectly, no matter how often you use them. 

The Expert Face Brush is a beautiful soft, domed face brush that I've been loving using for applying my liquid foundations. This brush smooths and buffs the product into my skin evenly and gives great coverage with high-street and high-end products alike. So what's the difference between this and the Buffing Brush? Well, firstly the Buffing Brush has a flat top which is great for the larger areas of your face (cheeks, forehead) but when compared with the Expert Face Brush, it isn't that amazing for blending into smaller areas of the face (around the nose, upper lip and eyes). The Expert Face Brush can get into all those creases and contours effortlessly, blending just as smoothly as on the cheeks and forehead. Secondly, the Buffing Brush is only available in the Core Collection- now as much as I love the other brushes in that set, I don't need to replace them  so £21.99 is a lot for one brush. I'm not dissing the Buffing Brush at all, its amazing and up until purchasing the Expert Face Brush it was the best brush in the world, but this new brush is just that little bit better. 

My one small dislike of the Expert Face Brush is that the base of the handle is really wide, allowing it to stand up, but it doesn't fit into my Shu Umura brush roll like my other Real Techniques Brushes do. Nevermind though, I still love it! If you wanna get involved, I'd recommend running down to Superdrug as Real Techniques Brushes are currently on 'buy one get one half price' at the minute- bargain!

In a nutshell: This Expert Face Brush has ended my long love affair with the Buffing Brush; it's perfect for applying BB Creams and foundations of all coverage!

How I Wash My Makeup Brushes.

I'm sorry I've not posted all this week, I've been waiting on a couple of products to arrive in the post but I've only received one of them so far which I've not been able to test yet (because it only came today!). Anyway, I thought I'd do a post on how I care for my makeup brushes. I don't know if anyone else agrees with me, but I find washing my brushes to be a bit of a chore. I personally use Wilkinson's Baby Shampoo which is something ridiculous like 18p!!! This is a decent sized bottle and it's lasting me really well. First, I start by soaking my brushes in warm/hot water. Then I wash the brushes individually using the shampoo. For my foundation and powder brushes, I make sure I get the shampoo right down into the hairs of the brush to clean them properly. My foundation brush and eyeliner brush are usually the most clogged-up (ew) so I usually give them a double-shampooing. 

I then lay the brushes out on a towel and leave them to dry naturally over night. My favourite brushes are all my Real Techniques brushes because they are so soft and smooth and clean up good-as-new every time I wash them. I also love the Avon Angled Brush, which I use with gel eyeliner; it's such a bargain at £6 full price but I got mine on offer for £2! I also have some MAC brushes and some Shu Uemura brushes which I got for my 21st birthday last year. I try and wash my brushes once a week, especially my foundation and powder brushes as they get the most use. I hope you enjoyed this post.
