So, I'm sorry I've been AWOL this week guys- I've been on my jollies in South Wales and wasn't anticipating the cottage to be quite so remote. I literally had to sit in the corner of the living room for a chance to get on the Internet and phone signal was none existent. I feel a bit disorganised having not unpacked yet but I thought I'd show you what's been on my face recently and whilst I've been away. 

I will admit that I've not used most of the colours in this palette but I use the purple shade to fill in my eyebrows (fifth one along the bottom row) as its the perfect shade to compliment my dyed purple hair. That reminds me, I need to do a post about my lilac ombre hair! I've been loving the speed and ease of using the new Maybelline Fit Me foundation stick- I love the smooth, powder-like finish and it's super buildable. This teamed with MAC concealer and powder leave me with a flawless matte finish that lasts the day. 

I've been keeping my eyes and lips pretty natural at the minute just doing my standard cat-flick eyeliner and trying to keep my lips hydrated. But this mascara, oh me, oh my. Subtle this is not: this is the biggest, blackest, boldest mascara ever ever ever! I need to do a proper review with before and after photos so bare with me but I love this! Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette.

Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette in Light (£9.99 from Sleek and Superdrug).

I mentioned in my latest beauty haul post that I stumbled upon this Sleek contouring palette by accident when browsing in Superdrug. This is actually my first and only Sleek product as their stands in Superdrug usually get destroyed and all the products have been handled and swatched (which I won't rant about now). I'd seen somewhere on the blogosphere that Sleek did a bronzer and highlighter contouring duo which mildly appealed to me, but when I saw this palette with the rose gold blusher combined with the matte bronzer and beautifully shimmery highlighter I just couldn't say no. Being of the fairer complexion, the word bronzer can be a scary one conjuring up images of super shimmery orange powders that make you look a) ridiculous and b) unclean. However, the bronzer in this set is matte and not nearly as scary as other bronzers on the high street. Plus I told myself if I didn't like the bronzer, at least I'd still be able to get my use out of the highlighter and blusher from the palette.

I love the simple but sturdy black packaging of this Sleek palette and it comes with a large mirror in the lid which is great for on-the-go application. The Sleek Face Form palette is available in options Fair, Light, Medium and Dark which differ in tone and shade; although the Fair and Light options look pretty similar online. I have the Light option (which incidently was the only palette left in store) which contains a beautiful milk-chocolatey matte bronzer, a peachy golden highlighter and a (scary-in-the-pan but not-so-scary-on-the-face) orangey rose gold blusher with a golden shimmer. The swatches above might look bright but that's because I had to use a lot of product to get the true colours to show up on my camera. 

The idea of contouring is that you create the shadows and highlights yourself to effectively change the shape of your face, i.e by making your cheekbones more prominent and defined. It's recommended that you apply the bronzer beneath your cheekbones to create shade and depth; the highlighter on the top of your cheekbone where the light would naturally hit it; and the blusher on the apples of your cheeks to give a flush of colour. I've loved playing about with this palette and the colours work so amazingly well together to create a wonderful look that I've never achieved before! The powders are super soft and smooth and have just the right amount of colour for my skintone to look natural yet defined. I can honestly say that this bronzer has converted me as it gives such a beautiful sun-kissed look to my pale skin. The highlighter isn't at all chalky and blends like a dream. The blusher looks super pigmented and bright in the pan and it's a beautiful sunset pinky orange; you can build up the colour really well if you want but a little goes such a long way with all of the powders in this palette. I'm so glad I bought this product and I've used it everyday since buying it- it's definitely my new makeup favourite! Have you tried the Sleek Face Form palette or got any Sleek recommendations?
