Storing My Makeup.

Box from Sainsburys (sale); Brush storage from IKEA; Mirror from B&M.

Although I love the Muji storage that rules the hearts of bloggers, I wanted something a bit different and more 'me'. I have my IKEA metal drawers for storing my makeup and beauty products in, but I wanted somewhere to store products that I'm currently trying out. I found this stunning vintage style box in Sainsburys in the sale and fell in love. I love that you can see through the lid and the three sections are perfect for dividing my face, eyes and lip products that I'm wanting to use at the minute. I've been rotating my makeup to try out new products or focus on a Spring colour palette. I just thought I'd share this idea with you- do you store the makeup you're trying out in a different way? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by x

My Makeup & Beauty Storage.

I thought I'd share with y'all my makeup collection and storage. It's taken me a good few years to get a storage system that I'm happy with. My drawers are the famous Ikea Helmer drawers that cost £25; they're really easy to put together and they're perfect for makeup storage. On top of the drawers I have this super cute wooden crate- I think I got it from Home Bargains or a similar shop. I thought I'd talk through each of the drawers and what I keep in them. So let's get started!

On top of my drawers I keep my excess makeup wipes and eye makeup remover pads as well as cotton wool pads all for taking of my makeup. I also keep my excess deodorant in here; I'm always super paranoid that I'm going to run out of things so I keep a store of back up products (loser).

In the top drawer, I store all my face makeup products. In the box in the back I keep my foundations and BB Creams. In the box in the front, I store my blushes of which I have many! The rest are primers, concealers and highlighters.

In the second drawer I store my eye makeup products. In the pack are all my eyeshadow palettes including the NAKED palette and NAKED basics palette. In the basket I keep all my mascaras and eyeliners then bedside them are my individual eyeshadows.

In drawer number three, I keep my lip products- this is definitely my favourite drawer! I have an acrylic lipstick holder with some of my favourite lipsticks in it including my MAC collection; next to that is my Kat Von D lipstick miniatures set which I love- I have five full size KVD lipsticks too. In the basket next to that I keep my non-lipstick products so my Rimmel Apocalips and Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balmstains etc are in here. Then at the back are all my other lippies including Chanel, Maybelline Color Whispers and more!

This drawer contains my Skincare products- mostly those that I'm waiting to use as I keep my current products in the bathroom. At the front are two full sized Clinique products that I'm currently using the miniatures of. I'm not very good at Skincare, it's something I'm going to try a bit harder with this year!

Here are my hair products; I have a disproportionate amount considering I never do anything special with my hair! And in the drawer below is just bits and bobs that don't fit anywhere else! This is by far the least organised and messiest drawer.

Makeup and Beauty Products Storage.

I've acquired a lot of makeup and beauty products over the past couple of years so organisation is key! Since I moved out a few months ago, I've not really managed to get on top of my storage so last week I spent the day sorting out our bedroom, focusing on my makeup and beauty products storage. I thought it'd be a good time to do an updated products storage post. My desk is from IKEA but I've had it for yearrrssss so I don't know if they make this exact one any more. The pink and teal roses drawers are from WH Smith but they're looking a bit worse for wear at the minute so I might replace them soon. The pink basket on top is from B&M's and that's where I keep my skincare and haircare products. The acrylic lipstick holder was from John Lewis and the white mini-basket is from Clas Olsen. I bought my mirror from a shop in Leeds somewhere but I can't remember what the shop's called! Finally, my spotty tin is actually a coffee caddy from B&M's but I keep my muslin cloths and cotton wool pads in here.

I love the different sized drawers in this organiser. The top left drawer is for lip products that I'm not currently using on a regular basis- they're mostly lipsticks that I don't need out in my acrylic storage but I'm thinking of getting a bigger acrylic stand off ebay for my lipsticks so we'll see. The top middle drawer is for overspill lip and eye products, mostly lip glosses and lip liners to be honest. The top right drawer is where I keep my lip treatment and eye products- you can see my Lush Lip Scrub, various lip balms and some eye creams.

The two middle drawers are really deep and you can fit loads in them! In the left one, I store my eyeshadows including my two Kat Von D eyeshadow palettes, my MUA palette, a Chanel quad and loads of individual eyeshadows. I keep all of my other high-end palettes under the shelf on my desk including my Benefit World Famous palettes; Urban Decay NAKED and NAKED Basics palettes and my Diego Dalla Palma Snow White palette. I also keep my eyeliners and mascaras in here, although I don't have many of them as I usually stick with what I know. The right drawer is for all my face products- foundations, concealers, primers, blushers and highlighters. I always think my blusher collection is vast but it's actually quite modest so I might have to expand on that soon ha! Finally, the bottom drawer is a mixture of back-up's, doubles and replacements. I hate the thought of running out of certain products so I usually buy them when they're on offer. I also keep my false eyelashes in here but I've not worn them in agesssss- I must get on that asap.

This is my 'products to try/use up' basket. I usually just chuck any new products in here after photographing them. At the minute I'm trying out some Along Came Betty products, I've got a Bioderma cleansing water that I've been meaning to try for about a year now but keep forgetting! Then I have some products I want to use up or start using again like the V05 hair oil and Collection 2000 primer.

This acrylic storage is for my current favourite lipsticks. In there is: MAC in Hue and Rebel; Maybelline Colour Whispers; Bourjois Rouge Edition in 02; Laura Geller Lipstick; Topshop in Innocent; L'oreal Rouge Caresses; Revlon Lip Butter (which I'm still trying to convince myself to like) and Urban Decay.

Here lies my high-end lip products. I have two Clinique Chubby Sticks; some Chanel lipsticks and lipglosses and a Dior lipgloss. They're actually stored in a recycled Herbal Essences hair mask tub! Below are my high-street lip (non-lipstick) products stored in a metal cut-out tub. I've got four Rimmel Apocalips; four Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balmstains; two L'oreal Glam Shine Miss Candy lipglosses and some other bits and bobs.

I hope you've enjoyed having a nosy at my makeup storage. Please link me to any of your makeup storage posts or give my any recommendations for storage! Thanks for stopping by x

Random Things.

So these are a few photos of random things that I wanted to share with you lovely ladies. I feel like I'm finally settled into out new home now we're a month in. I've still got some clothes in bags (the horror) but for the most part I'm really organised and everything has it's own place now.

My mum bought me some lovely bits and bobs last week including this incredible cat shower cap from Primark (I think it was about £3). Firstly, the colour goes perfect with all our bathroom towels etc, secondly it's got a cat on it- enough said. I have some lilac faux-Ugg boots from Primark which I wear as slippers but sometimes they can get a bit warm and *ew* sweaty. My mum got me these lil Footlets which a) have an amazing name b) are super cute and c) are in beautiful colours! I saw this bright pink bucket bag in Sainsburies- yes the supermarket- and my mum treated me to it. It's a total rip-off of the famed Zara bag but at a fraction of the price for £20. I love the cut-out detail on the front of the bag which is so on-trend for SS13 (not that I'm a trend slave). Unlike the Zara bag (as far as I know, I don't know anyone who owns one!), this beautiful bag has an inner bag with a zip closure, hello rainy days, which is also removable. Can you tell I love this bag?

I finally got round to putting all our books away last week- it felt strange merging our book collections but it looks good now it's done. Me and my boyfriend both love reading and this is a mere fraction of our book collection. I personally love reading crime fiction, fantasy fiction and psychology books but I also have a nice collection of recipe books and art books.

I love this door mat- it was £5 from Matalan and was actually in a wishlist I made a few months ago now. We don't have a hallway so we bought this draught-excluder from B&M's for a bargain £3.99, I love the welly print!

Finally, this is totally random, but I love this basket I got from TK Maxx that we keep our bathroom smellies in on the window sill. It keeps everything neat and tidy and also stops me from leaving millions of products in the bathroom! I love the colours as it's not too girly and my boyfriend keeps all his shaving stuff and deodorant in there too. I guess this is like an Instagram post, except I don't have an iphone so it's a random things post- enjoy!

Beauty Storage.

I just thought I'd show you this super cute coffee caddy from B&M's that I bought to keep my cotton pads and cleanser cloths in. I love the cute colour scheme and the polka dot design. I think it was only about £2 which is a ridiculous bargain! I keep this on my desk next to my makeup drawers and beauty basket which I've posted about here. You can also check out my nail varnish storage here. Please leave me links to your posts on makeup/beauty storage as I'm super nosy and love those kinds of posts!
