Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Mask.

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Deep Pore Detox Mask (£11 from Boots).

I had an all-too-brief love affair with Lush Fresh Face Masks, I had to find some alternative that didn't require monthly trips into town to get a new mask. I've not really seen many reviews of high-street face masks in the blogosphere so I did find it difficult to choose what to get. I finally decided to trust in good old Soap & Glory and bought their No Clogs Allowed Deep Pore Detox Mask (what a mouthful!). As always with S&G, the packaging is amazing- the super girly pink writing and lid are most pleasing on the eye. But why the silver foil tube I hear you ask? Well, the product inside is self-heating so I assume it helps keep the mask fresh and cool.

The mask itself has a most unusual texture, it's like a cream but it smooths onto the skin and transforms to a chalky powder texture. The mask contains small particles that help with exfoliation and pore cleansing. The packaging recommends that you apply the product and then massage it in with wet hands until you're blue in the face- literally! As you rub the product it turns a light blue shade and heats the skin. You can then either leave it on for 3-5 minutes or wash it off there and then. I've been using this mask once a week for a good few weeks now and I have noticed that it's keeping my blemishes at bay. It cleans my pores out really well and softens and smooths my skin. I'd probably say this mask is meant for normal/oily skinned girls more than dry skinned ladies as it isn't at all hydrating and it is super mattifying. I love this mask, it's everything I could ask for in a face mask and more! Soap & Glory to the rescue again!

In a nutshell: This self-heating, pore cleansing mask takes all my skin troubles away!

Simple Deep Cleansing Face Mask.

Simple Deep Cleansing Face Mask (£3.99 from Boots).

I'm not gonna lie, this was a complete panic buy. I love the Lush Fresh Face Masks but I've not been able to make it to the nearest Lush shop in a good while now and I was in desperate need of a face mask. I didn't want to commit to buy anything mad expensive and I also didn't want anything to harsh on my skin so I played it safe and went for good old Simple. Simple isn't a brand I use regularly but it's one that I'll fall back on in times of uncertainty- you know you're going to get something effective but gentle when you buy their products.

I like the simple (duh) packaging of this product and tubes are always great for speedy application. This Deep Cleansing Face Mask is like a thick moisturiser in consistency; unlike other face masks it melts into the skin much like a milky cleanser. Simple recommend that you use this mask once a week for dry/normal skin or twice a week for oilier skin types. I normally like face masks that you can leave on for a good 15minutes as I find it super relaxing but sometimes that's not always realistic in our busy lives! I like that this Simple mask is intended to be left on for 3minutes meaning super speedy results. I've been trying to use it twice a week and this mask leaves my skin feeling clean, refreshed and soft. I really like this mask and I think it'd be a great beauty collection staple as it's an ace last minute rush beauty treat. What's your favourite face mask?

p.s I hope you're all ready and excited for Christmas!
